November Roundup
Well the month of November has been a fun one for me. I got to go to Bonfante Gardens for the first time. I rode a train, watched my brother and mama go on some rides, my brother won me a prize, I ate a big ice cream cone, and I saw my first Praying Mantis! My brother was a little scared of it, but I thought it was cool. I wanted to touch it!
I also got to experience my first real Thanksgiving (last year didn't count, since I couldn't eat any of the food). Our friends Bud and Sandi (and Mae Mae the dog) came up to celebrate with us. I LOVED mama's cranberry relish, I could eat that by the spoonful! Yummy. The turkey and all the other stuff was okay.
Now I get to look forward to Christmas. Yay presents!

95...Yeah I like that number!
I had my 15 month check-up the other day (although it was a little late!) at the doctor's office. Well its no big surprise, but I am a BIG boy! My weight (29lbs and 2 1/2 ounces) puts me in the 95th percentile. My height (34 1/4 inches) puts me over the 95th percentile. And my head circumference (meaning my big brain ;-) 49 1/2 cm) also puts me in the 95th percentile. It looks like that is my lucky number for now!

Halloween Spooktacular!
Well my second Halloween came and went, and yet again I didn't get to experience the fun of trick-or-treating! I really have GOT to stop falling asleep so early, I miss out on all the fun ;-)
Oh well, I still had fun leading up to Halloween. Mama decorated the house inside and out with lots of fun decorations. I loved the bats and spiders hanging in the house. We had lots and lots of pumpkins and gourds in the yard and pumpkin chuckin' is my new favorite sport! Mama carved a nice little pumpkin for me since I am still too little to do it myself.
We walked in a Halloween parade in Carmel and the whole family was in Star Wars theme. Dada made a very imposing Darth Vader, my brother was Captain Rex, Mama was Princess Leia, I was a very adorable Ewok, and the dog was a very reluctant Yoda.
We also had fun out in Carmel Valley going to a pumpkin patch and walking through a corn maze and a hay maze. I didn't like the hay maze very much, too dark and scary!
But I am telling you right here and now: Next year I will be awake and raring to go trick-or-treating with my brother and our friends. I am gonna get me some of that candy!!!

Summer Roundup
Okay so I know this post is a little late (it is October!) but I have to give my mama some slack for taking so long. She has a lot to do, especially dealing with me and my brother everyday!
Anyway, I had a very fun-filled Summer this year. I went swimming for the first time in Con Con's pool. I love the water, wheeee! I went to the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, lots of cool things to see there. I met my Grandma for the first time, I liked playing and making faces at her! I went to the beach on a few sunny days. I LOVED playing in the surf, mama is very hopeful that I will be her snorkel-buddy someday. We went to a few car shows, that made dada VERY happy! And we went to the Monterey County Fair, where my brother went on lots of rides.
Whew! That's a lot of stuff for a little dude like me to do, but it was lots of fun. Now I get to look forward to Halloween bwahahaha....

Real Men Wear Kilts
I went and checked out my first Highland Games a few weeks ago. I wore my brother's old kilt, which he outgrew, and Ewan wore his new one. Dada, Mama, and my Boompa were dressed up too. I had lots of fun walking around and loved seeing the sheepdogs herd the ducks. Too funny! I wasn't quite sure about the bagpipes but since I didn't scream when they played I guess that means I don't mind them. I know I will have lots more fun there next year, when I can REALLY run around and have fun!

Walking and a Rollin'
I have hit the big milestone of being able to walk! Of course along with that comes the many bumps, bruises, and scrapes. I started to take my first steps in July (Mama was hoping I would walk on her birthday. Ha! I did that weeks before.) And now I am truckin' along and still trying to find my "land legs". I can get pretty far before I lose my balance and fall. Of course I was getting cocky and thought "well heck if I can do this walking thing I MUST be able to do the whole running thing!" Uhhh...wrong. I tried it and failed miserably and in the process skinned my nose. Wowee did that hurt! Now I get quite the looks from people with my "new look". Oh well, I am sure it just the beginning of many many more "boo boos" for me....sorry Mama!

My Always Helpful Brother
I am so lucky to have the brother that I have. My face always lights up when I see him and he can always get me to laugh. He loves me so much and is always there is keep an eye on me or help me out. He even puts up with me tackling him and wrestling! I know our relationship will get stronger and stronger the older I get. He is my idol!

A Day in the Life of Aidan
So you would think that just cause I am a baby that I wouldn't have a lot to do during the day, but you would be wrong, wrong, wrong! I have LOTS of things to do during the day:
First I wake up, in my typically good mood, with my favorite "dog":
"I love me some doggie tail"
Next, I have my own bit of exercise:
And finally, some days I like to go and hang out with the local "colorful" wildlife:
See? I am a busy little man!

Then I give the cat his daily exercise or excitement, whichever way you want to look at it:

It's My Birthday!!!

Hooray hooray I turned one-year old today! Wow the year just flew by. But what a fun year it has been. I have had so much fun discovering new things like laughing, crawling, playing, and (very soon) walking! Playing with my brother is the best part of my day along with playing (or chasing) the cat, that's fun stuff too. And I have really enjoyed spending time with my family and friends.
For my birthday I got a cool walker from Mama and Dada, as well as some books (that I can't destroy), a bead chew-toy (I LOVE to chew/bite things), and my brother got me my very own jumbo-sized Legos (which he seems to enjoy playing with as well). My Con Con gave me a cool "Birthday Bugs" pop-up book (which I have to look at with supervision because of my destructive tendencies!) and she gave me $100! I also got a big bunch of balloons and Mama made me cupcakes that I had fun demolishing (oh and eating as well).
This has been a very fun-filled year for me and I can't wait to see what this next year has in store for me and the year after that, and the year after that....

9 Month Checkup ( I am HUGE!!!!)
Well I went to the doctor again (didn't I just go there?) and got all measured and weighed. I now weigh 22.9 pounds (80th percentile). Mama and Dada kept saying the scale must be broken 'cause I feel MUCH heavier than that! My head circumference is 47 cm (90th percentile) and my length is...drumroll please.......32.4 inches which is in the 120th percentile!!!! The nurse measured me twice because she thought she did it wrong and the doctor seemed incredulous when she saw the number. My Mama and Dada didn't seem to be that surprised, I guess the fact that I am wearing 18 month clothes makes it a given. I also got a shot (grrrr) and had my hemocrit levels checked (I'm good!). I didn't cry at all but I made sure to give the nurse my best scowl and dirty-look to express my displeasure with the whole thing.
I am growing at a rapid pace: I am sitting up now on my own, I hardly fall over which is good. I can clap like nobody's business, I am babbling away, and I now have 4 teeth on top to add to my 2 on the bottom. And much to my parents frustration, I can crawl and get into LOTS of things. I got a hold of the cat food the other day, "crunch crunch", it tasted fine. I don't know why Mama was freaking out? Oh and I discovered the hilarity of apples: Dada was eating a nice crunchy apple the other night and I just thought that when he took a bite it was the funniest thing I had ever seen. I was belly-laughing over that!

"All I want for Christmas (belatedly) is my 2 Front Teeth"
I have hit a big milestone in my first 7 months, I got my first 2 teeth! They are great to have and gnaw on stuff with but whooeee are they a pain to get. I can't believe (or mama and dada) that I have many more months of this painful experience to go through. I wonder if this is part of the "growing pains" I have heard about. Oh well it will all be worth it because one of these days I can start eating the good food that I see my brother and everyone eating. No more mush for me!
